The snow wasn't everywhere. There were spots of the frozen water, large spots, but there was also glimpses of rock in certain places. This was the eastern slope of the Jedu Mountains, where the slope was flatter and easier to travel on. For this reason, Featherstone had chosen it to walk down to the forest below.
The white, black striped wolf wandered father down the slope. Her belly in the sharp grip of hunger. She felt slightly dizzy from the height and the hunger and she knew she had to make it to the bottom by tonight or she might risk falling. But she wasn't completely depressed, though somewhat, because she knew once she reached the forest she would be able to hunt and sleep without fear of rolling down the slope.
"Just a few more miles," her paws ached but she continued to trudge further and further down, closer to level ground.
Her mahogany eyes narrowed as her pad was pricked by a sharp rock. Onyx forced her weight upon it to keep it from rolling and making her lose her balance, which could end up in death. Tears pricked her eyes as she felt the rock rip open her tender, black pad but she continued on, careful with each step, leaving behind a thin trail of blood in the snow patch that she walked on.

Silver's ears pricked. She'd been wondering around the Jedu Mountains for a few days now and hadn't seen or smelled many other wolves around here. Now however, the silver fae caught the smell of another wolf. Long, slender limbs carried the graceful fae toward the scent trail of the newcommer.
Amber optics gazed through the snow that was blown up by the wind as she began moving up the slopes. The other wolf came into view, white striped with black, an unusual coloring. Silver slowed her pace, eyes flicking to the blood trail for a torn pad.
